Check out these games and activities to help you learn more about geography.

Free Rice: This site started as a vocabulary building game, but its authors have since added math, art and GEOGRAPHY to the mix. Play and donate grains of rice to the needy.

Traveler IQ Challenge: This game is as fun as it is challenging. The object is to get your flag as close as possible to the actual location of the capital city or landmark. Levels get increasingly more difficult.

GeoSpy: This game from National Geographic is a blast. Identify countries under time pressure to win. Certificate available upon successful completetion of the game.

GeoQuizzes: These are from LizardPoint and offer a variety of topics related to map identification.

National Geographic Kids’ Games: There are tons of games here. Some will be a little challenging, most not so much since they are for a younger audience. Check them out though because they are colorful and fun.

KidsGeo.com Games: These games might be written for the elementary school set, but what can you learn from them?

PlayKidsGames.com: Scroll down for the geography related games. One challenges you to correctly place the countries of Africa into the continent.

MyWonderfulWorld.org: Some of these games might be the same as those at the National Geographic Kids’ Game page, but it’s still worth a look. There are also other interactive activities in which you can participate.

Geography Games: These are from Purpose Games and are mostly quiz like (i.e. can you identify the state or country?). Pit yourself against the clock and create a new record.

DigitalDialects: These games are trickier than they look. Just try to correctly identify the cities of France.

Where is that?: This game from Funbrain.com has five levels. How much do you know about geography?

Trivia Plaza games: Try the landmark games. Level 1 is pretty easy, but what about the others?
